Sanctuary for the Soul

Sanctuary for the Soul is a sacred space and a community for coming home to a place of peace and wholeness within/for connecting with Divine presence within and beyond with meditation, movement, beautiful music and deep listening to ourselves and to each other.

There are no structured steps to movement, we are gently guided to listen to our embodied souls and to allow the movement to unfold from within. No meditation or other experience is needed to participate.

Sanctuary for the Soul is designed for soulful adults who are interested in self awareness, spirituality, and in being supported and empowered to be themselves more fully and to live fulfilling lives.

Practices we engage in include:

  • Cultivating kind awareness of the body and whole being
  • Connecting with the heart of one's being - a place of deep peace, joy and love
  • Being nourished and rejuvenated
  • Listening to the wisdom of the embodied soul
  • Experiencing a personal connection with the Divine within, in others, and beyond (using any name or lack of a name for the Divine that has meaning to you)
  • Celebrating each other, life and having fun!
All in a safe and non-judgmental space where one is welcomed to both be in their own space and to listen deeply to themselves, as well as to be seen by others and to have opportunities to share one's experience with others. Enjoy gentle space in terms of the guidance, the choice of music and other details.

The Summer Day

Who made the world?

Who made the swan, and the black bear?

Who made the grasshopper?

This grasshopper, I mean –

The one who has flung herself out of the grass,

The one who is eating sugar out of my hand,

Who is moving her jaws back and forth instead of up and down –

Now she lifts her pale forearms and thoroughly washes her face.

Now she snaps her wings open, and floats away.

I don’t know exactly what a prayer is.

I do know how to pay attention, how to fall down

Into the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,

How to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through the fields,

Which is what I have been doing all day.

Tell me, what else should I have done?

Doesn’t everything die at last, and too soon?

Tell me, what is it you plan to do

With your one wild and precious life?
