Welcome. I work with clients collaboratively to support them with their unique situations and goals. Below are some examples of the situations we can work on together.

  • Are you feeling stuck in a situation you are facing? Perhaps you are feeling dissatisfaction related to a relationship, career, or life direction? Perhaps you sense that things can be better for you but do not know how to get there. Counselling can offer compassionate and caring support in helping you understand yourself better, discover a way forward towards what you desire, and be supported along the way. 
Counselling can be there to support you in becoming more aware of your feelings, needs, sensing more clearly what you want and do not want, hearing the desires of your heart, or the call of your soul. Once we are in greater connection with ourselves and understand ourselves better, clarity and power towards next steps in creating the lives we desire emerges. 

If you are looking for a counsellor who is attuned to your experience, giving you a sense of being heard and seen, someone who esteems you, intuitively seeing your goodness, gifts and abilities, and is encouraging you towards what you want with warmth and gentleness, these sessions may be for you. 

  • Would you like to be more connected with your body wisdom? Would you like support in making decisions? Our bodies have a natural intelligence, present within us, that is here to guide us. This natural intelligence includes our innate abilities to sense, to feel, to know our needs, limits, desires and longings, to hear a quiet still voice of our deeper being. Body-based modalities can help us reconnect with this inner intelligence. 

For most of us, often due to family upbringing, trauma or cultural influences, we have grown out of touch with our innate inner wisdom. Western culture has taught many of us to primarily use our minds in navigating our lives. The mind is a wonderful tool, but when we rely on the mind alone and are not in touch with the wisdom of the body (which includes the heart), it can I find be difficult to be connected with ourselves fully. 


If you find yourself often questioning or dismissing your inner knowing and feelings, using your thinking mind to override what your inner world knows, or choosing what you "should" be doing instead of what you feel is wanted, it can feel confusing and challenging to lead an authentic and fulfilling life. I invite you to work together to gently uncover your natural capacity to be more in touch with yourself and make choices that lead towards a more authentic and fulfilling life.

  • In addition to feeling more connected with ourselves and understanding ourselves better, I find that creating a life one desires also includes shifting our habits. Are you looking for support in becoming more aware of beliefs and habits that no longer support you and in listening to your body's wisdom to show you new more authentic and life giving beliefs and habits to support you in living the life you desire?

Counselling & Psychotherapy Approach


  • I work from a client-centered perspective: this means that I value and support each person's innate wisdom 
  • Strength-based: seeing innate goodness, wholeness, strengths, gifts and abilities in people. Believing in and supporting their natural capacity for growth 
  • Compassionate, warm, attuned, and gentle approach
  • Trauma-informed
  • Holistic: Awareness of the whole self that includes the body, heart, mind and spirit (or deeper being), as well as life circumstances. Traditional approaches to counselling work with the mind and the heart. Through my own healing journey, I found most meaning and change by including awareness of the body and the soul/spirit/being together with the mind and the heart. My training includes both traditional and body-based soul-centered approaches to counselling.


Modalities Used in the Sessions can Include:


  • Mindfulness: Mindfulness allows us to be present with our experience in the present moment, non-judgmentally. This can be a wonderful tool for being more in touch with our experience with kindness, for noticing any habits or patterns we have, tapping into our inherent wholeness, and for cultivating a capacity to hear and choose responses that are more life-aligned. No prior experience with mindfulness or meditation is needed.

  • Body-based Counselling and Psychotherapy: In addition to speaking, you will have an opportunity to include awareness of your body. I found through my personal inner work and by working with clients as a Counsellor for many years that embodied awareness can offer more opportunities for insight and transformation then speaking does alone.

  • Through my own journey of rediscovering my connection with my embodied wisdom over the past 25 years, I bring sensitivity and compassion with me as i work with clients to support them to gently rediscover their natural capacity to be more in touch with themselves.

    • Dance/Movement Therapy: The sessions can incorporate therapeutic movement/dance. Dance can be a powerful and very enjoyable way to express ourselves, to access the unconscious and the inner knowing, and to embody change we are seeking. Incorporating dance/movement can often lead to inner shifts faster then when practicing talk therapy alone. 

    No prior experience with dance or movement is needed. You choose how much dance/movement you would like to be included in the sessions. My aim is to go at the client's level of comfort. This might mean that for clients who are new to movement, we may speak most of the session and practice simple forms of meditation and embodiment at first. For clients who are more at ease with dance or wish to move more, we may incorporate more movement. 

    • Other forms of expressive arts such as visual arts can be included as well

     

    I've had an opportunity to work as a counsellor and psychotherapist for the past 17 years, including past 8 years as a Counsellor with George Brown College's Counselling and Student Wellbeing Services. You can find more details about my Training and Work Experience here


    Languages: In addition to English, sessions can be available in Russian language.



    Sessions are offered online over video and in person in Toronto, Canada (717 Bloor Street West).

    Sessions are 1 hour long

    Fees: $170 per session. Sliding scale is available for virtual sessions.

    Sessions are often covered by extended health benefit plans under Counselling or Psychotherapy services. Health benefit plans usually include counselling and psychotherapy provided by registered social workers. (I have a Masters in Social Work degree and am a Registered Social Worker). Please inquire with your insurance company. Receipts are provided.
